If a would-be burglar were to notice that your lights turn on and off at the exact same time every day, they would no longer assume that the home is occupied just because the lights change. So, for security, X-10 events can be made to vary randomly +/- 30 minutes through the week. To enable this behavior, check the Security checkbox when editing an event.
